Truckers Beware. You are not alone! In an article by Anahad O’connor of the NY Times more than a third of police officers have a sleep disorder ( most commonly OSA). Upper-Airway Stimulation for Obstructive Sleep Apnea — NEJM

FDA approves “pacemaker like” device for Sleep Apnea. Implanted in the chest it stimulates the hypoglossal nerve to keep primary airway muscles open so that breathing is not obstructed during sleep. For more details see New England Journal of Medicine Study below (Study funded by Inspire Medical Systems).
